Noble Humanitarian Missions (NHM) has maintained a profound and critical partnership with the Mekedonia Home for the Elderly and Mentally Disabled since 2019. Our collaboration is rooted in a shared mission to serve the most vulnerable—those elderly and mentally disabled residents who deserve comfort, care, and dignity. Over the years, this partnership has evolved into a massive, multi-continental logistics operation powered entirely by donor generosity and volunteer effort. From small local drives to massive international freight, NHM ensures that the basic, life-sustaining needs of the residents are met consistently, allowing Mekedonia to focus on its life-changing work of rehabilitation and compassion.
The Core Mission: Dignity in Every Shipment
The most urgent and consistent need at Mekedonia is for essential sanitary and medical supplies, specifically adult briefs (diapers). When you contribute, your gift directly helps Restore Dignity: Your gift ensures privacy and profoundly improves the daily life of Mekedonia’s elderly and mentally disabled residents. Since 2019, NHM has successfully delivered over 1,966,120 incontinent supplies to the residents. This colossal undertaking is possible only through strong community efforts, like the collaboration with the Ethiopian diaspora and youth volunteers from organizations like Northshore Interact, who collected over 5,500 adult briefs in a single campaign. This number is not just a statistic; it represents nearly two million moments of restored comfort and sanitation.
Mobilizing Massive Medical Support and Logistics
Our efforts extend far beyond daily sanitary needs. NHM has transformed into a logistics pipeline delivering monumental quantities of vital equipment. Between 2019 and 2025, Noble Humanitarian Missions managed a staggering total of 452,450 pounds of aid, facilitated through 158 major shipments. This included 16 forty-foot shipping containers and 142 air freight pallet deliveries. Crucial items like hospital beds, EKG machines, mobility carts, wheelchairs, and medical gloves are regularly transported and delivered to enhance the residents’ quality of life and access to care. Key partnerships with Ethiopian Airlines, The Boeing Company, and Partners for World Health are vital components in ensuring these life-saving resources reach their destination without fail.
Impact and Transformation: A Home of Hope
The continuous flow of aid we provide is the bedrock that allows Mekedonia to achieve remarkable outcomes. Beyond the medical deliveries, our support allows the Home to focus on rehabilitation. As of our last reports, over 400 elderly and mentally handicapped residents have been successfully rehabilitated and become productive employees, while more than 300 patients have been able to return to their homes or previous lives. This is the profound, long-term impact your support enables. By covering the foundational needs—such as the massive shipments of medical supplies and the two 40-foot containers of adult diapers delivered in 2025 alone—we help Mekedonia turn a sanctuary into a place of true transformation and recovery.
